A Needed Reset

Brooke and I have stayed at The Brook twice in the past three years. The cottages are clean, comfortable, and nicer than expected. With large bedrooms and a living/dining area, we felt like we had plenty of room to stretch out and relax, rather than being cramped up in a small hotel room. Rocking chairs on the covered front porch and a patio with a private BBQ grill and picnic table in the back added to the sense of privacy and room. Steve and Susie Reed were great hosts and Steve even took time to pray with us before we left. We are definitely going back and we highly recommend their ministry to anyone in the ministry who needs a reset. You will enjoy yourselves.

What a blessing the Brook has been for our family. We have been fortunate to have visited several times over the past decade-plus, and have always been refreshed, renewed, and rejuvenated. Anybody in ministry will reach a point of getting drained and need some time away from the day-to-day. The Brook offers such a place where you can enjoy a rustic setting full of peace and opportunities to relax and seek the Lord. I still remember the first time my wife and I ever visited; nearing the Christmas holidays, they were decorating for the season, and we enjoyed the quiet, listening to Christmas music, reading and studying, and just enjoying time with each other, and more importantly, with Jesus. We have been blessed when we have taken the whole family (five kids, and granny), and when it has just been the two of us. The name (from 1 Kings 17) depicts the moment when Elijah fled to the brook Cherith to be refreshed. God took care of every need. While we can’t guarantee ravens delivering food to you, we can guarantee Steve and Susie will do all they can to make your stay a blessing. We still try to visit regularly, and cannot recommend the ministry enough. Even if you are unable to visit, please consider praying for the ministry, helping with a donation, or inviting the Reeds to come and share their vision and ministry with your church.
